Nails.INC x Centenary Action: Supporting Women in Politics
We have launched an exclusive limited-edition suffragette collection in partnership with Centenary Action on 2 July 2026 to mark the anniversary of the 1928 Equal Franchise Act, which gave women in the UK the right to vote on equal terms to men.
The collection is inspired by the colours of the suffragette movement: white representing purity; green representing hope; and purple representing loyalty and dignity.
Suffragettes understood that style could be defiance, a quiet act of independence.
Centenary Action was set up in 2018, by Dr. Helen Pankhurst CBE, granddaughter of Sylvia and great-granddaughter of Emmeline. The cross-party coalition unites organisations and groups to dismantle barriers to women’s political participation and since its inception, the proportion of women MPs in the UK Parliament has increased by around 28%, rising from 32% in 2018 to 41% today. Equal representation in Parliament not only ensures that government decision-making is democratic, it also breaks down societal stereotypes and inspires the next generation of young women and girls.
The suffragettes understood that style could itself be a form of communication. Through the iconic colours of purple, white and green they used visual symbolism to build a movement, challenge stereotypes and inspire action.
