Best Nude/Tan Shade Ever
"I have been doing my own nails for well over 50 years, with a detour into acrylics for a couple of decades when I was making fairly good money, and not working in health care at that time (my field there was in surgery, which forbids such things as acrylic or gel overlays, polishes, attachments of any kind, extreme lengths, sharp edges, etc. ) But about 15 years ago, I started back on the ""natural nails, manicures at home by myself"" method after my income dropped considerably, and I needed to save my money, after becoming disabled. I had plenty of time, obviously, and I could grow them out again as long as I liked. It took about 4 - 6 months to get them past the period where I had been required to scrub them daily with surgical alcohol hand scrubs, and plastic brushes every day, and more than once a day! For some reason they didn't seem to care for that! So, I've been experimenting with different polish brands, types and colors for some time. When I first went back to doing my own, I was doing mostly reds and pinks, and standard French manicures. Then the ""nudes - neutrals"" craze kicked in. I was intrigued to say the least! I wasn't quite sure which shades (or brands) I should try, because I hate wasting my money on shades that are ""almost"" but ""not quite. "" I tried a few different nudes from different vendors, and a few of them were just OK, a few others were way off the colors their ads displayed, or just too dark for me, but a couple were like ""Goldilocks"" and were ""just right!"" One of them was very much like this lovely soft pinky-tan, but this one here was just a little closer to what I wanted, from a company I did not know anything about, but as I read so many reviews, I decided to give it a shot. Delivery was very quick, even though a bit pricey, as I couldn't justify spending $30 more on product just to save $10 on shipping! No, I'm not that free with my money, but I do believe in investing in good quality. I got it in a few days, and had already prepped my nails earlier in the day for a fresh manicure. Just a bit of alcohol on a cotton ball to remove any traces of skin oils at that point, and I was ready to start. After one coat of nail strengthening base coat was allowed to dry, I opened the polish bottle. It took me a minute to discover the process of removing the rectangular plastic cover over the actual round bottle lid, because it was REALLY stuck on there good, and the bottle lid wasn't turning. But it finally began to free up after a few good hard turns on it, and it came loose from the inner round cap. I got a tentative grip on the small round cap, and it opened fairly easily, to my relief. I pulled out the brush, wiped both flat sides on the inner neck of the bottle, and I was pleased to see a nice plump brush, with a rounded end that appeared to be capable of laying down a good, but not too generous, amount of polish without puddling my cuticles at the same time. The first test nail is always my left pinky nail, as I always begin on that one, and work my way back to my thumb. I don't ever double back over a wet nail, because that usually makes me bump or smear into it by reaching over it to get to the next one further away. I always work from farthest away to the nearest one. (I do the same thing when I light candles on🎂cakes!) The first swipe of the brush laid down a beautiful thin layer of polish down the center, and the next two down each side were equally pleasing. The color is gorgeous, a lovely soft pinky-tan shade that quickly and efficiently covered all the other nails. I decided that the first coat would be the only one that time, and after I let it set for 10 or 15 minutes, I laid on an adequate layer of the chip-proof top coat I have been using for at least 25 years, and don't intend to change! After everything dried, and I got a good look at the color, smoothness and shine, I was extremely impressed by the way the color was so pleasingly neutral (or nude) in color, and over the week, I found that it was as much in the background as required, while still showing up enough to garner quite a few complements, even from strangers! I found this polish is not only beautiful in color, but also durable in wear, as I did not need to do any kind of repairs to the polish over the two weeks before it was time to do another manicure. I do enjoy the color very much, but I'm also not going to get stuck in a rut with just one color! I'm going to buy a couple of other colors in this group before they sell out! I may even buy two of them two at a time and try and save on shipping costs this time!"
